About Orders Associates Research Systems
Orders Associates Research Systems is pleased to offer a wide range of current meters, current profilers, wave and tide gages, acoustic releases, CTDs, Niskin bottles and Carousel Water Samplers, and other physical oceanographic equipment for lease including floatation, mounts, winches, meter wheels, etc. (please see our lease list). We can provide as much or as little assistance as you require, from simply providing the instruments with or without operator, to complete mooring design, construction, deployment, and recovery. Data processing is available using the equipment manufacturer’s latest software and our own custom routines.

Company History
Orders Associates Research Systems was founded in 1993 with a single InterOcean S4 current meter and one product, the WaveWatcher Datawell Waverider data acquisition system. Working with these items and constantly reinvesting profits into the company, we have amassed a lease pool of several dozen instruments from manufacturers such as Aanderaa, EdgeTech, Flotec, InterOcean, Sea-Bird, Magellan, Nortek, and RDInstruments. We also have winches, generators, meter wheels, and floatation available. Please see our lease list for a complete listing of all equipment.
Well maintained equipment works well. To this end every
piece of OARS equipment is tested immediately before it goes into the field and
again when it returns. In addition, all equipment is factory serviced at the
manufacturer’s recommended interval.
